October 1. We've had a few more days of rain. Pierce County has not yet issued a removal of the burn ban. but we are much less vulnerable regarding wildfires.
Be aware that on Saturday, October12, FICRA's Emergency Preparedness and Radio Club will be conducting an exercise (drill) for the Block Coordinators (neighborhood lead persons in an emergency situation) to improve the means for getting information on a neighborood's status in an emertency to the Emergency Response Headquarters (EOC at the Nicholes Community Center. A report out on that exercise will be sent to Fox Island residents in a FICRA newsletter.
